If you enjoy creating digital illustration, painting or drawing, photography or video making, and you also care about the environment, we invite you to participate in the Art Contest "The Planet is your Canvas", through which we seek to make visible the contribution of the Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment to combat accelerated climate change and to protect our ozone layer.

About the art contest

This first edition will focus on highlighting the importance of the Montreal Protocol in reducing ozone-depleting substances and the impact of the Kigali Amendment on the reduction of greenhouse gases, such as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

Reception of artworks

October 17, 2022 to March 31, 2023

Prepare your artwork and submit it using the application form. Take into account the information resources and remember to fill out all the fields.

Pre-selection of candidates

March 31 to April 07, 2023

The OzonAction Evaluation Committee will review the requirements and the artworks received.

Jury vote

April 11, 2023

The jury, composed of artists and members of the United Nations System, will select 20 pieces of artwork; 5 per category. The jury vote will have a weight of 80%.

Public Online Voting

April 15 to April 25, 2023

Everyone in Latin America and the Caribbean will be able to vote for her/his favorite artwork. The public vote will have a weight of 20%.

Announcement of winning artworks

April 28, 2023

The four winners will be announced in April and the award ceremony will be held in Panama City, Panama.

The winners in each category will be announced in April and will be invited to the United Nations office in Panama City and will enjoy a learning and creativity program created especially for them.

Rules

If you are a national or reside in a country in Latin America and the Caribbean and you consider that you have talent in any of the following areas: digital illustration, drawing and painting, photography, and video, this contest is for you.

Please, consider this information: The content of the artworks must reflect an important message related to the contest theme (Montreal Protocol and Kigali Amendment).

Any artwork that is not original or has been submitted to another art contest will be rejected.
